Patients with kidney failure can experience sudden life-threatening symptoms of poisoning and hyperhydration. The treatments that assume the functions of the failed kidneys are grouped together under the title "Renal Replacement Therapy". These include:

• Haemodialysis
• Peritoneal dialysis
• Kidney transplant

Haemodialysis takes place six days a week at our dialysis centre.
Peritoneal dialysis is carried out independentliy by the patient at home.
A kidney transplant involves the patient being given a healthy kidney. We will discuss the medical criteria for this beforehand. We maintain a close relationship with the nearby transplant centre (University Hospital Zurich), where the operation is carried out.
